A nice excursion from Mindelo-Sao Vicente island- ( the discovery of the Cape Verde archipelago by the Portuguese navigators in 1456, the Portuguese colonization til 1975, the walk of Sophie through the town-the beach, the fish market- , the painter Tchalé Figueira and his workshop) to Praia-Santiago island- the record studio, the guitarist Alberto Dos Santos Silva-the music is the unique richness of Cape Verde-, the singer and composer Osvaldo Armento Vadu, the bassist Mario Mendoca, the different music styles of Cape Verde, Osvaldo singing a song of Batuko style-the daily life of the inhabitants-, in the suburbs of Praia Edna Pinto Ravanes-the 12 batucadeiras playing drums and singing a Batuko song) passing by the island of Antao ( the guide Antéro Chantre de Oliveira, the road construction beginning in 1962, the hiking trail to Pahul, the life of the farmers-sugarcane plantations and many small rum distilleries-, the eating of the cachupa in Lucia's restaurant), by Mindelo again ( the French expatriate Dominique Robelin, the town where Cesaria Evora was born-her story-, by night the Cape Verde music in the bars).
