Alexandra cache un lourd secret. Quand elle était toute petite fille, sa tante Judith a été assassinée. Sa mère, mentalement fragile, a été arrêtée, reconnue coupable du meurtre, et internée dans un hôpital psychiatrique. Alexandra, qui croit sa mère innocente, décide de se replonger dans ce passé tragique...
