El Barco : Épisode 7 (2011)
Synopsis
Though she loves him, Ainhoa decides to break up with Ulises because they can't ever be in peace. Meanwhile, Palomares declares his love for Vilma. The Polar Star looks certain to fall down the waterfall. With that threat on the horizon, everyone is invested in trying to minimize the damage, preparing nets to cushion the fall, sealing up the cabins, and readying exit routes in case the ship sinks. The captain encourages the crew, in case the worse happens, to say everything they need to say before jumping. Piti interrogates Vilma about the baby's father, but he doesn't like the answers. The father was Cuban and Piti gets obsessed with the idea that the baby will be black or mixed-race, reminding him constantly that he's not the child’s real father. De la Cuadra convinces the captain to follow his own advice and get some closure with the doctor. After learning that De la Cuadra plans to have children with Salomé, Bubble believes that he is the most dispensable on the ship. He decides to do something heroic for his colleagues by jumping down the waterfall in a crate to check the height of the fall to find out for sure whether the Polar Star would survive. This extreme situation brings to light the real relationship between Salomé and Bubble. Estela asks Palomares to celebrate an emergency mass, as some of the students want to receive the Holy Communion before jumping. However, Palomares doesn’t feel able to celebrate the mass with the way he's feeling. He's in love with Vilma and, because of that, he's going through a crisis of faith. Ainhoa feels unable to forget Ulises' violent outburst. She can't get the rage with which he hit Gamboa out of her head, who didn't even defend himself, as well as the hit she received trying to break them apart.
