Synopsis

What would happen if the world disappeared overnight? Something happened inland several hours after the training ship Polar Star set sail from port. After a spectacular unexpected storm, all navigation systems stopped working. Communication is lost and with no response from the other end, it’s as if the world as we knew it is gone. The switching on, after several malfunctions, of the particle accelerator built in Geneva has failed, causing a new Big Bang. What appeared to be only a doomsayers' threat has actually come true. Thankfully there was an "extreme security protocol" in place in the event that something went wrong. Only Julia, the ship's scientist, knows how important it is that, during the storm, the Polar Star stays over the natural fault that she set as destination coordinates. In a few hours she will understand that something has gone wrong, and she will feel obliged to tell the crew part of what she knows: there is still hope beyond the tragedy but, for now, she decides that it's better to keep the full story to herself.
