El Barco : Épisode 6 (2011)

Synopsis

Ainhoa decides to put everything aside and work on her relationship with Ulises. The stowaway prepares a romantic evening where they sleep together for the first time. Meanwhile, Julia tells the captain she's not able to start from scratch with him. Palomares has vertigo and De la Cuadra knows how to get rid of it right away: forcing him to climb to the top of the ship. That way they can also look at the horizon and try to find out why there's a rainbow without rain and why are they moving without wind and with the engines turned off. Once again, the sea seems to have taken control of the ship. They will soon see what is moving the ship: a massive waterfall lies before the Polar Star, as if the sea were divided in two, which could easily destroy the ship. Julia, De la Cuadra, Gamboa, and the captain try to understand the instructions given by the pilot from the plane's black box, but it’s impossible as all reference points changed after the cataclysm. North, south, east, and west are no longer good to orientate themselves. However, Bubble heard the castaways say they could find the location of the island. How? Julia has the answer, as the Polar Star was only one of Project Alexandria's ships. There's at least one other ship, known as "technological", that has more advanced technology than theirs, sophisticated devices able to extract the precise coordinates from that box. This must have been the origin of the castaways. Today is Valeria's birthday and they have prepared a big surprise party, but she is not in the mood to celebrate. She knows that her father spent the night with Leonor and feels betrayed. The captain, unaware of his daughter's grudge, is astonished to find he's not invited to the overnight camping trip that he gifted his daughter, but Julia convinces him to go anyway. De la Cuadra is invested in the birthday preparations, which brings out Salomé's maternal instinct. What if instead of just being "Uncle Julián", they had their own children? De la Cuadra is surprised by the suggestion and avoids the question without giving an answer. The cook is saddened by her boyfriend's reaction, but she has no idea that the first officer is concerned that his cancer would result in leaving an orphaned child soon after being born. Ainhoa decides to make public her love for Ulises in front of the entire crew and suggests that she and the stowaway take their relationship further and secure it for good. Gamboa, however, won't sit by doing nothing.
